When In Rome... Recap: Day 2 Roman Forum

Even though it feels like an eternity since we were in Rome -- or in Europe for that matter, I'm going to attempt to recreate our memories by finishing up our trip recaps. Thankfully, I took an average of 1.2 photos per minute during our trips, so it shouldn't be too hard to remember what happened.

So where were we? Ah yes, Rome, day 2, or as I like to refer to it, the day after visiting the coolest thing ever (see When In Rome... Recap: Day 1 - Colosseum).

It started off a beautiful day and we decided to head on over to Palatine Hill, where the ruins of wealthy Roman families' estates were. As we were walking by the ticket booth, we saw our "archaeologist" tour guide from our Colosseum tour yesterday selling tickets. Waverly and I immediately looked at each other and she commented, "maybe archaeologists don't make that much money," but we decided to give him a free pass and assume he was just getting ready for a Palatine Hill tour and happened to be hanging out at the ticket booth.

Feeling somewhat duped, we walked up the hill, and were greeted with amazing views overlooking the Roman Forum:

and also ran into a guy that people probably didn't like that much:

We descended from the hill and strolled around the Forum, where only decaying columns and arches can allude to what once was.
