The Late Bird Almost Misses the Flight Back to Zurich

There really is nothing better then ending a wonderful 3-day vacation than packing into a rush hour train to the airport like sardines and then running through the terminal like a crazy man to catch the last flight out of town.

The train we originally planned to take to the airport was first delayed 15 minutes. Then it arrived on a different platform. Then after finally getting onto the train, we sat waiting for another 15 minutes to only find out there were engine problems and we would have to go to another train. Ultimately, we arrived at the airport within 30 minutes of departure and luckily, due to heavy fog in Zurich, the plane was delayed taking off and we were able to make it.

More on the less hectic portion of our trip later...

We just ran and ran in the Amsterdam airport. Thank god we made the flight. I can't imagine where we'd have to spend the night if we didn't make it.

At one point in the airport, I'd be running and Waverly would be walking, huffing and puffing. I'd stop and wait for her to catch up, and once she did, quickly start running again, but she didn't move. She was pretty tired to say the least.
